Dove and Dove Men+Care enter whole body deodorant market

Unilever has announced the launch of new whole body deodorant ranges from Dove and Dove Men+Care, significantly expanding its deodorant profile.

The new dermatologically tested ranges provide 48-hour odour control with added skincare ingredients.

Customers can shop the range in 3 formats: a spray; which contains nourishing oils; a glide-on stick, which can be used on the chest, thighs and intimate areas; and a cream, which contains a vitamin B3 and works to enhance the most delicate areas.

Customers can shop the Dove range in 3 fragrances: Lavender & Camomile, Raspberry & Rose and the Boots-exclusive hypoallergenic Sea Mist & Peony.

Meanwhile, the Dove Men+Care range features unique odour control technology. The spray, stick and cream formats contain added skincare ingredients and plant-based moisturisers to help retain moisture. They also contain vitamin B3 to act as an antioxidant and strengthen the skin barrier.

The Dove Men+Care range is also available in 3 fragrances: Marine + Blue Cypress, Bamboo + Aloo and the Boots-exclusive Cedar + Shea Butter.

Chris Barron, General Manager for Unilever’s Personal Care business in the UK and Ireland, says: “The adoption of whole body deodorants is the biggest personal care behaviour change in over 45 years, and we are committed to leading this new category.

“By expanding our portfolio with trusted brands like Dove and Dove Men+Care, [...] we are meeting a wider range of consumer needs, from skincare and sensitivity, to performance and fragrance,” adds Barron.

The announcement follows a successful launch in the US and last year’s debut of whole body deodorants from the Sure and Lynx Unilever brands.
